ok that’s the games out the way… and looking back I really need to stop buying 360 games when I see them for about £5 but its so tempting plus you can get some good games (forza 2 cost me £2.50)

Now i don’t expect to get any of those done but I’m gonna try! And who knows next semester might give me some free time.
Dammit that’s reminded me I need a copy of Leopard or snow leopard…

yay progress
ok so i’ve just about finished setting up the back end for the web sites and I think its pretty good if i do say so myself and becasue I wrote it, it will take about 30 mins to covert it between sites
ok its nothing like the power of wordpress but it does have a WYSIWYG input, which was 60% coded by me stole a few bits of open source code but hey.
the podcast uploading is working great apart form the 2MB limit on the files… but i’m working on a splitter program for online use that will split the file before uploading and link them back up at the other end. i just need some kind of way of recording progress of the files just in case it fails half way.
ok this might not sound like much but its the hard stuff out the way the rest of it is finishing off the WYSISYG input with a few more buttons and get to work with the layout. and now that content input for the whole site is now done though the WYSISYG input it make life so much easier.
well i feel at ease now
and its not just because of that it looks like the game I’ve been working on is finally going to make some head way the boss is going to get the artist making some graphics for the game because currently its a carboard cut out on wheels on a test track made of arrows with a front end that a hash of a car game and a snowmoblie game…
so i think the work a mess comes to mind.

force of habit
ok so I have a pile or work to do still and it really doesn’t seem to be getting smaller… but after today all I want to do is crawl into bed…
but who knows after a pot of coffee I might be up for an evening of work… and I really need to start drinking coffee again if it going to be like this everyday.
yummy coffee and here was me hoping I could give it up for the next 16 months… but oh well I can give it up after the last year of uni.
oh and a quick update on me getting a PS3. well the verdict is in and the answer is a No! well not this month anyway. But thats not enough for you people is it you want to know a reason
Well 1 down 11 to go
and no i’m not talking about jobs on my todo list or games i’m talking about working as a games developer.
I can honestly say I’m not enjoying this job one bit, which is odd because I love coding but I don’t know what it is about this place but if i had to guess I would say lack of focus because today I could point out 6 different games being worked on… which ok isn’t a bad thing but after a few hours they’ll put that down and do one of the others…
and it also the people floating around with nothing to do IE the testers we honestly have too many of them. for such a small company we don’t really need 4 of them nor do they need me its too crowded.
along with that they seem to be hiring more people… like today the newest employee started and he was ment to be a jr programmer but he doesn’t know C or C++ and from what I have learnt he hasn’t learnt anything new since college (same course as me at the the same time) so he knows VB6 and Java script …
ok the config files to manage and setup the bulk of a game could be done by college students but you still need to know how to code…
oh and we also have 3 work experince kids to entertain for 2 weeks YAY!
i honeslty hope we move into the new office soon…
but oh well it will be all over in 11 months and then I can go on holiday or something…
oh well i suppose its back to work the sooner i kill these jobs the sooner I can have my evenings free again.
Work day
ok i’ve been busy with other matters and work the last 3 weeks and its really really been pissing me off i’ve tried to get some work done but i’ve only had like an hour free here and an hour free there along with, and on the weekdays after coding all day the last thing I want to do is work at a computer so evening has been play TF2 time but ok that going to stop if I can get most of it done today It won’t feel so bad doing some more after work because at the moment its a mountain…
well ok the pot of coffees on, which i think might be a bad thing considering i’ve been drinking Decaf for about the last 10 weeks… but oh well atleast it will speed up my work.
well laters people i’ll be logged into steam and MSN all day but don’t worry I can’t play TF2 because for some reason the pyro update broke it oh well.
For the love of linux
ok i’m back using my install after so much time in letting it rot.
and I’m surprised only one thing isn’t working (the weather widget) oh and my external hdd has decided not to mount after working all morning…
but i forgot how much PClinux was a dream to use ok it has a few issues but these are mainly because I’m used to using windows. but now that I’m using it again I can work on this web site with no real worries because having to upload everytime I want to test something is annoying (not to mention slow) its much better now just hitting save in Kwrite and hitting F5 in firefox i’ve also started working on my new site I already have the likes of Wordpress install on here i’m just having a play building the rest of the site.
ok enough about that I should really get back to the main site. and updating this distro (639 updates!)
but alteast you can make it have pretty effects
i’m currently using the burn option set to alot of small particals and purple I must admit it looks pretty cool

GRRHH my eye is inching like a total bitch today and it hasn’t stopped since last night… I would say its hay fever but i know better, well actually it might be but that’s not what started it off.
well anyway I’m at my desk again doing some form of work shock horror… but atleast when I get it done I still have a very large pile of games to play

The Darkness
Ok i’ve been meaning to get this game for a while now because I did enjoy the demo but not enough to fork out full price for it so once again good old gamestation pulls through with its 2 for £20 range and I buy it. I’ll sink my teeth into this one later today maybe but we’ll see.
The Final Hurdle
ok now there are only 4 days left to work on my game before I have to hand it in so the pressure is a little bit on. but its nothing compared to the other modules and I already have the pseudo code in my head ready to put into the program.
so a quick update on various things then. Firstly my interview on friday I think went well apart from the fact I turned up 30 minutes early (oppss I got the time mixed up) but now all I have to do now is play the waiting game to see if they will be offering me the position.
ok as well as that I gave myself the day off yesterday to play some very good crackdown. I must admit its a fun game its as glitchy as Assassin’s creed though the amount of times this game screws up in one play is amazing such as floor swimming (where I start swimming when on dry land) hitting an enemy into orbit (my punching them) and hitting a car into orbit (just by driving to the pack of them) I must admit watch a car you clipping with ur car fly into the sky is very fun (just like team rocket from pokemon) but still there are annoying ones like stepping out of a car and falling though the floor! I mean c’mon.
but there’s no time for crackdown now I need to finish my game.
ok Calming down
ok its 8pm and my puzzle bobble game has been cleaned up a bit and my databases is done, done 10 pages for my games doc (need more!!) and I just need to graphically clean up my rez game but the biggest issue here is my cheap as laptop it can only handle 4 FPS in my rez game… well i suppose its enough to show it… just very very slowly.
Well the laptop is the back up plan anyway.
oh and on a lighter note “ITS OVER 9000!” yes that’s right my blog has had 9616 hits and over 7000 Unique hits that’s not bad for something that I made.
ok I promise now I’ll never use this dead joke again. ok coffee break over

PANIC TIME! ok i’ve now somehow got to finish two game’s write about 15-20 pages of documentation for games and finish my databases all before tomorrow… I think its going to be coffee pot and no sleep for tonight. shame as well I lasted 11 days without caffeine.
