wilfing again

just thought i’d post this. its kind of sums up my week nicely.

as you may have guessed i;ve been fixing bugs all week (and as of friday there was 1 bug left out of hundreds)

and from what i’ve learned is never allow testers to have a sugesstion option under bugs… I mean it 90% of the things in the list were suggestions.

example. “change the colour of the background of player 2′s co op icon…” I mean come on…

well that me done for another few days

at least when i’ve finished these “jobs” I will never have to do them again. I must admit working at DDI has taught me you only ever need to write a bit of code once and once only as long as you do it good enough in the first place so that it can be used for anything.

ok its a lazy way around it but its true. I jsut finished making a php program for uploading podcasts and playing them I just need to write the code for the rss feed now and thats pretty much done. the best part about it is I can rip it apart and use it for general file uploads or image uploaded if i need to.

as well as that i’m also coding a text input window very much like the one i’m using to write this but not as complex most of the functions will be there including the standard text to XHTML convertor but thats another thing that can be used for anything later that never needs to be rewritten (maybe updated)

its odd I do actually enjoy doing this in the evening even though i’d be rather playing something like team fortress 2 but it nice it reminds me that I can still code no matter how how annoying the HAVOK physics are at work…

Ok there not very funny but i’m lacking on material since my computer went kaput last week.

oh and its kind of funny that my old blog is still getting triple the hits my new blog gets and i’ve been here for over a month now… emm I need something to reel them in…

well that was a total success I managed to basically finish off the software project one last sitting.

ok its now 2:30 am and i have work in a few hours but I don’t care after work I can have a few hours sleep and finish this off once and for all

ok so its now the Easter holidays YAY well theres no time to rest WTF!? thats no fair

ok I would says its kind of my fault this web site needs to be done by monday and well I haven’t really worked on it at all i started it this morning… so thats now going to eat up all my time…

at some point I need to see Charlotte but once again its a time issue I need to juggle this site and work and some how meet up with her becauses its been like over 2 weeks and I feel really guilty I kinda wish i had a clone or atleast an extra 5 hours in the day! I also need to meet up with Martin and Clive at some point this week and by the looks of things its going to be Alex too the only one missing is Gerard but he busy working so theres no hope of that.

Well either way i’m getting UBER stressed out now and I don’t think even the coffee can save me I just need 2 whole days of nothing thats what I need I don’t need a week just 2 days.

so I’ve come up with a cunning plan I’m going to work myself half to death up to the end of the week then after the weekend then its FREE TIME! that way I’ll have Wednesday – Friday of nothing so hopefully I’ll play some Lost Odyssey and get my surprise ready before I hit 6K.

damn you all I’m about to hit the 5000 hits mark and I was planning on releasing something on that day somehow i don’t think it will be finished by then… oh well I could wait for the 10,000 mark at the current rate of hits that should take too long the average this week was 52 yesterday I had 65 hits!

I suppose I have two days before the 5k so I might be able to get it done…
