Fake and real, real and fake

Posted on Saturday, March 8, 2008 in PSP

damn i hate this debate of real and fake ms pro duo’s… its just a pain in the arse really. basically most fake sticks are the ms pro duos made by i think its Scan disk and that can hold more than the stated space double infact.

basically I used to have a 512 scan disk ms pro duo (came with my phone) and when you put it into to a PC and looked at the partition tables you find its a 1GB just with a 512 partition so if you format and repartition you have 1 GB which is great and most of the time they are very stable but alot aren’t because the second half it sometime faulty but hey mine works fine and doing tests on it don’t show thats it a fake… but it just means it not a scan disk…

so maybe its a lexar ms pro 2GB this would explain my problems with plugins …

Homebrew is a total bitch

Posted on Saturday, March 8, 2008 in PSP

ok I love home brew to bits it allows be to do what the hell I want with my psp but when you want to install someone elses program it amazing no one has a clue one person says one thing another says something else and half the time they just repeat whats in the readme files and say that works… do i look stupid the readme is the first place I went so don’t talk to me like a total n00b.

ok my problem is simple its DAX’s popsloader I’m currently running popstation 3.80 (3.80m33 fireware SHOCK!) and that runs game great apart from FF7 where it hangs in battles. so ok how to fix this problem oh i know load an older version of pops onto the psp and run it through that sounds simple right. WRONG!

ok basically it works by installing the driver and then hunting though the older firmwares to find the pops files then just throw these into the popsloader folder. then you active the plugin then when loading the game hold R down until the popsloader menu loads then select the firmware you would like to run simple yes?

ok my problem is the menu doesn’t appear when i hold R and the game doesn’t even launch anymore… with the plugin deactivated everything works like a dream apart from FF7…

Working very nicley

the very second I enter a battle i get this

then after a few second it will lock up the psp here

and it was thanks to this wonderful battery

still not as good as a DS but this’ll have to do until i can afford a new one

Always do research

Posted on Tuesday, March 4, 2008 in Hardware, PSP

well that was stupid i’ve managed to get an undowngradable PSP and its Square enix’s fault for releasing FF tactics damn them… I wish i had waited now for M33 (basically Dark_Alex) to release the custom firmware I wouldn’t be sitting here hunting for a cheap battery…

ok there is a way to downgrade back to the very nice 1.5 version then back to the 3.90M33 but it requires a hard mod of my battery basically i just need to disconnect the battery from battery memory sounds simple… but I still don’t get it what did they changed in the firmware so that the battery memory loads no matter what but hey a pair of wire cutter will soon sort that out…

I still think its funny that sony put software onto a battery…

but nows the fun bit finding a battery to replace my hardmodded one because once i snip that it will be forever a pandora battery… well I suppose I i could snip it then bend it then solder it back on…?

well at the very least i haven’t got to go on the hunt for a battery that i can turn into a pandora battery but even thats not that bad anymore thanks to Datel they have either the TOOL version or a HOT WIRE version i have no idea what the difference is but i have the feeling that the HOT WIRE version is just a pandora battery nothing else, which sucks £30 for a “battery” that doesn’t work

oh a word of warning to www.orderoftheflame.co.uk the PSP-2007 has issues (the a model number not year) so be warned if you end up with one. oh and for the silms you will need to make a hard modded battery i’ll let you use mine considered the “new” sony batteries don’t work

CRUSH

Posted on Monday, February 18, 2008 in PSP, Review

Ok slap me on the wrist I got a new game I just couldn’t take it anymore 11 days with nothing to do but watch TV or do uni work!! and its was only £6.99 so meh. anyway its a simple puzzle game its “research” for games dev

Made by sega for the sony PSP

Another Puzzle game I hear you say, well yes I reply but with a difference its not made for a Nintendo console. and now you say its crap shame on you.

STORY (yes it has story, well kind of)
ok on with the game. ok you play at a guy named Danny who is suffering from insomnia caused by stress and repressed memories simple really…

ok the purpose of the game is to make your way thorough danny’s mind to try and find the cause of all this. To do this you use a machine and shes called C.R.U.S.H (Cognitive Regression Utilizing pSychiatric Heuristics).

ok C.R.U.S.H basically allows Danny to jump into his mind and CRUSH his problems (sometimes theres green blood and guts involved)
GAMEPLAY

this is where the fun begins and i think a few screenshots are in order.

so the objective of each level is to collect your marbles to open the exit then go to the exit (sounds simple yes?) but to do this you will need to CRUSH the 3D world into a 2D one.

the 3D to 2D is very similar to paper mario (but Zoe Mode came up with it first) but with on difference you can CRUSH the 3D from the 5 different views top, left , right, front and back, which make the game harder but somethings are only visible in certain 2D views.

3D

2D

This is really one of those game you need to play because watching a video or looking at a screenshot doesn’t really show you how great this game is.

So my rating for this game is going to be a nice big

9/10

now thats a good rating its even better when you consider I paid £6.99 (NEW) for it, now that’s a total bargain I would willing pay full price for it ok not £39.99 but defo £29.99
