A decade of gaming
Well the end of the decade is here and I think its a good time to do a quick run down on my favourite games on the last decade. Before anyone complains I will only be counting game I have actually played so the likes of uncharted and AC2 are out of the running. my second rule the game must of been released in the UK within the last 10 years (so if they were released in 1998 in Japan but 2002 in the UK its still counts)
ok lets being with 1999 because that was a great year (even though its not part of this decade).

I’m Sure this list has annoyed a few people but I don’t care these are my games of the last 10 years so 
to you.
I also sure I’ve missed a few but at the end of the day if I’ve forgot about them there not important.
I’ve also noticed that my top 10 of the decade are almost all RPG’s

Challenge
now I’m setting myself the challenge to play every single one of those games from start to finish over the course of 2010. Starting with 1999 and working my way up to 2009 should be fun
Need for speed facing its final days
well looks like EA has come to there senses and might be dropping Need for speed studio Black Box now its a major shame another studio is going to suffer cuts but at the end of the day if its stop these awful Need for speed games then i’m up for it, and to be honest will you miss them considering there steady trend of getting worse and worse each time considering they almost turned the game into driver this time what’s next another GTA clone…
EA please do us all a favour and drop them or atleast drop need for speed and or even better move the studio on to a worth while project.
the only problem I have with this is if EA are dropping this Chav fest of a game which in all fairness is a good seller this will probably mean more games being rushed out the door so basically more expensive shovel wave like mirrors edge. ok harsh comment on mirrors edge but strip back the graphics and the original idea and that what EA did to it.
oh also in other news Zavvi have gone a dropped the price of the 360 to
Plodding though
Ok i’ve finaly decided to blitz though all the game that are currently unplayed or uncompleted on my shelf leaving the RPG’s to last of course.
first on the chopping block was N3 but that now a 1k game so done and done.
next up is the reasonably under rated but i can see why they complain Bullet Witch
well once again this should be an easy 1k point and i should be able to blitz thought over a few evenings next week. shame that Alica (the bullet witch) is the same voice actor that does Ash Ketchum out of pokemon, its kind of creepy becasue you can hear it just about but then again she has a pretty hot voice which makes it much more creepy.
and after that it will be LBP time then i’ll probably attack either
Enchanted Arms (i know i said no RPG’s)
this game is a bit disapointing but it was rated the best RPG of this generation for about 6 months mianly because it was the only RPG on next gen consoles for about 6 months
this is a square based turn based RPG which plays quite well with the option to build a nice little army but with the most point achievements ever each chapter is an achievement so completing the game is equal to 1k again. but there is one thing i never got about this game they put a 100% gay guy in your party at the start of the game who is over powered compared to you then kill him…
then next up is either chromehounds
I honestly don’t get this game… it doesn’t play like any other mech game i’ve played and it doesn’t even play that well but it was kind of fun but I haven’t touched it since my 360 got stolen mainly becasue i lost my save game and i really could’nt be arse playing all those missions again.
then earth defence force or condemned 2
funny thing is thats only about half of them lol…
i’ve still got ace combat 6 to complete and COD 4 but oh well
N3 1000
yay finally did it 1k N3 and i must admit it was worth it the get everyone to the highest level achievement wasn’t actaully get everyone to the highest level it was get everyone to the highest level then play all there missions again mainly because they are now different with alot more enemies and more bosses brilliant.
now just gotta wait 6 months for N3 2…
in other news it looks like i’m going to finally changing jobs now that things are starting to move just gotta take it easy now and finish the games i’m working on.
oh and I might be buying a ps3 today as a reward I can get this work done. but i might just wait until i get a hdmi to dvi connector becasue without it well i’m not doing anything

well thats the first 10 weeks done and I must say this week has been the most relaxed and enjoyable week so far. It might have something to do with the fact I’ve done no stressful programming and I feel as though the game is nearing completion but i’ll hold judgement on that until the game gets some tracks and bikes… (still waiting)
but I heard the new boss man talking to someone on the phone about motocross and it looks like now golf is finished and urban UK and EU are coming to a close (the games no where near finished but big boss man in the US wanted it submitted to Nintendo yesterday) then they will be focusing on the other projects like battle rage and motocross and maybe even Call for heroes, so I’m not to fussed at the minute but I think next week will be busy good thing i booked time off then (hasn’t been confirmed yet though…)
but in light of my few days off I’ve brought some new games and the reason why I got some news games was the guys I went to lunch with wanted to get SC 4 so while waiting for them I had a peak in the 4 for
MS…

Resi Evil 5 is Co op
Fallout 3 is well on the way
Gear 2 has 5 player co op (crashed during demo so still a way off complete)
and the biggest kick in the balls for PS3 is Fallout 3 is only getting DLC on PC and 360 WTF???
ok major update on the MS front
first off FF13 has jumped ship… this certainly explains the delay in everything but if there are using Unreal as the engine for the game then all they need to do is recompile it under the 360 version and change a few things here and there…
ok first off I now have a video of the online co op of res 5
along with a gameplay trailer of Fallout 3
just as they said Oblivion with guns oh well should still be good though and lastly fable 3
ok other news is Star ocean 4 will be here in spring 2009
infinite undiscovered will be out on the 2 September in the US

giant expansion
does anyone else get the feeling that Gears 2 is becoming more and more like a very large expansion pack rather than a sequel…
take a look at the “whole new game” that is multiplayer
no really whole new is it… oh well i suppose
Dispoinited in Square
for their game Star Ocean 4 AKA star ocean: The Last Hope is to be 360 Exclusive now I would rather have seen that on the PS3 but the at the same time the achievements on that game are going to amazing even if they will probably only be 2 points each.
but then again 10 out of 10 for giving us more to the Star Ocean universe and actually giving us dates and events closer to now
now that is going to be a good game its been a long time since a game like this has come along I just hope to god its like Star ocean 2 rather than 3 but still both will be good.
but in classic Sqaure Enix style its out 2009 so that probably means 2010 for us… oh well. the strange thing then the 360 will probably be out of steam and the next gen will probably be announced.

I can’t think a good title for this one but still SE seems to have made some major improvements since the last time we saw anything about this game and from the trailer it might turn out to be a very good modern RPG.

so finally Beyond good and evil 2 is officially confirmed and approved for production. now if you have played the first one you’ll understand why I’m really looking forward to this one even though it has taken 5 years so start making a new one.
the closest thing I can compare it to would probably be the Jak games… but thats doesn’t feel right

I’m now tempted to get a PS3 just so I can play the first one again (but first lets see if it runs on the PC)
